The Rebound from Samaritan’s Purse
This is a lovely short film about one of the ways the Filipino people are recovering from Super Typhoon Haiyan.
To give you a little background on that typhoon, it hit the Phillipines November 8, 2013 as a category 5 storm with sustained winds of 145 mph, and gusts up to 180 mph. Over 11 million people were affected, and 6300 people were killed. It was one of the strongest tropical cyclones ever recorded.
The producer of The Rebound is the Samaritan’s Purse, an international relief foundation that brings food and medicine to those in need around the world. You may be familiar with their pack a shoebox campaign. The charity has a 5 star rating and 87% of it’s donations go to it’s programs and services.
